The standard driveshaft bearing support is softly mounted from the factory to minimize noise. However, under real-world loads, this design often leads to the bearing giving way, sagging over time, and the driveshaft no longer being guided precisely. The result is noticeable jolts in the drivetrain, delayed throttle response, and unstable handling during acceleration and gear changes.
Typical problems of serial storage
As the original rubber bushing ages, it loses stability. The material hardens, cracks, or yields under load. This changes the position of the driveshaft, which puts more stress on the joints and leads to unwanted movement in the drivetrain, especially during load changes or hard acceleration.
Improved solution for road use
This two-piece replacement bearing carrier in the basic version replaces the soft standard bushing with significantly more robust, yet comfort-oriented bushings. The driveshaft is reliably held centered without transmitting disturbing noises or vibrations to the interior. Power transmission remains constant and controlled – even during sporty driving.
Advantages at a glance
- Reduces sag and movement of the driveshaft
- Ensures the correct alignment of the drivetrain on a permanent basis.
- Noticeably more direct response
- Smoother driving behavior during load changes
- Installation is possible without removing or disassembling the cardan shaft, as it is a 2-piece design.
- Suitable for rear-wheel and all-wheel drive
- Suitable for V6 and V8 engines
- Compatible with automatic and manual transmissions
Driving experience & practical benefits
The stabilized storage system benefits drivers from:
- more direct throttle response
- more precise, tighter gear changes
- more even acceleration
- reduced vibrations through improved shaft guidance
- more pleasant behavior at low speeds and in city traffic
